How often do you base your characters on real people?

Most of my characters are based on combinations of real people I know and work with. I will take a few ques from one and add a couple from another.

What kind of research do you do, and how long do you spend researching before beginning a book?

There are hundreds of hours spent in research in every one of my books. Every historical event, menu, location and technology was current and up to date at the time of writing.

How often you read?

Reading is critical to being a good writer. I find myself reading and learning every day.

How did you decide which form or genre was right for you?

When I’m not writing, I work in the film business. It is a make believe world and I write fiction as it appeals to me in life and in what I read.

How do you begin a book?

I outline everything and then allow myself to free flow within that structure.

Tell us some more about your book.

Time 2 Die is the fourth book in the Codi Sanders series. It was finished just before the pandemic hit and takes our heroine on an intense international case with a dangerous Antagonist and a ticking clock that will push the reader and the book’s characters to the limit.

Which scene or chapter in the book is your favorite? Why?

There is a moment where Codi (Protagonist) is as low as I have ever taken her. She finds a way to crawl back and take on almost impossible odds – I still find myself cheering for her when she does.

What do you hope readers will take away from this story?

I hope readers will be transported and entertained for a spell as they follow Codi (protagonist) and her partner, Joel, through thick and thin.

What’s next for you?

Codi has more to go but I have recently finished an exciting new novel, dystopian near future.
