Ladd’s excellent fourth installment in the Codi Sanders Thriller series continues Codi Sanders’s thrilling run-in with relentless danger. When Codi is called to investigate the possible link between the robbery of a century-old grave and a terror plot, she has no idea what kind of situation she’s getting into. With millions of lives at stake, Codi and her team must race against time and thwart a bio terror plot of intangible consequences. The wickedly twisting plot twists back and forth between the present and the past, from Long Island, Ny, to Kolkata, India, to various locations across the United State. The intriguing storyline, crisp prose, and thorough characterization keep readers anchored. Although all of the characters are sketched with skill, it’s Pullin Ikaika, who steals the show with his super-villainous act. Codi and her team’s dash across cities provides the book’s most exciting moments, but Ladd also skillfully develops the plot’s alarming concept and its implications along with delivering masterful characterization. And he is an expert when it comes to handling multiple subplots, including the backstory connecting the infamous Typhoid Mary to the current terror plot. Readers will tear through the final pages to see whether Codi can once again succeed in her dangerous endeavor. Ladd has fired on all cylinders with this neatly plotted conspiracy thriller.
