Hernandez’s latest plunges a former operative into a deadly extraction mission through a burning cyberpunk Seattle. Former operative Ethan Cross is hired to escort Helix Dynamics CEO Victor Hale, who is carrying a cold-storage wallet containing two Bitcoins, to Pier Zero. With surveillance drones overhead and corporate forces closing in, Ethan must cross a fractured city where money, technology, and survival have become dangerously intertwined.

Hernandez keeps the action moving at a brisk, cinematic clip, sending Ethan through neon-lit streets, black-market bazaars, abandoned transit lines, and shadowy underground tunnels. The futuristic Seattle is vividly drawn, with corporate arcologies, synthetic enforcers, digital ghosts, and cryptocurrency woven naturally into the setting.

Ethan makes an effective action hero: wary, capable, and enhanced by a Quantum-Ocular Overclock that predicts threats and gives the fight scenes an inventive technological edge. The implant’s side effects also add welcome vulnerability to a character built for survival. Hernandez is especially good at maintaining unease around Ethan’s assignment, steadily suggesting that the mission is more complicated than his employers admit. Some of the cryptocurrency explanations are repetitive, but the brisk pacing and escalating danger keep the story on track. Beneath the gunfire and futuristic hardware lies a timely concern with ownership, corporate power, and freedom.

A fast, neon-soaked thriller with plenty of cyberpunk bite.
